Difference Between IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and Laser Hair Removal

IPL and Laser both are methods used to remove unwanted hair and both of these are used to remove hair permanently. Yet there are some differences between them which can be summarized as follows:

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) also called Photoderm, is a computer based machine. Just like a camera's flashbulb, Photoderm too uses bright light. Its light works similar to a laser and for the purpose to remove unwanted hair. However, there are still many differences between laser and IPL due to which IPL is gaining popularity day by day.

The largest difference between IPL and lasers is in the physical composition of the apparatus. For one, laser light is coherent whereas IPL is not. This means that in IPL the light waves can interfere with each other and either increase or decrease the power of the wave. The laser light strength is always the same. Laser light is also monochromatic and collimated whereas IPL is not, which means that the wavelengths are of the same frequency and travel in the same direction. Therefore, the physical composition of lasers means that it is not easy to treat a person with varying colors of hairs; whereas IPL can treat a wide variety of hair color. IPL has the power to penetrate to various depths into the skin as it has a multitude of wavelengths .. As the laser's light is of the same wavelength it only penetrates to the same depth with each beam and hence has to be adjusted for each hair color ; this can be inconvenient for people with multi-colored hair.

Due to their wavelengths, their effectiveness too differs. Laser is limited to hair removal only whereas IPL not only removes facial hair or unwanted hair from any part of your body, but it also treats pigmentation on face, chests and hands and sun burnt skin. IPL also diffuse redness found on the face or chest which is not possible with laser. Therefore, IPL has a wider range of uses for the cosmetic industry.

Another major difference between IPL and laser is the pain which you get. The pain varies from person to person; however, laser light typically gives you a little more pain than the IPL. Lasers may give you strong pinching feeling. If your hair is dark you will experience even more pain. With IPL you generally feel less pain but you still get very light pinching feeling. This difference in pain is usually put down to the continuous concentration of a wavelength meeting the same spot on the skin for a long period.

IPL is effective in terraating a greater number of skin types IV (1-5); whereas laser is only suitable to treat skin types I -IV (1-4). IPL treatments are considered to be shorter than laser treatments because IPL 'heads' are up to eight times larger than lasers and so cover more area at a time. IPL also causes less damage to the surrounding skin than lasers. You are more likely to be scarred (despite still uncommon) with laser treatment than with IPL. Further, the risk of pigmentation to the skin after using IPL is much lower than lasers.

It is worth speaking to people who have undergone these methods to understand the process, costs, results and pain experienced. Only then should you undertake one of these methods.

The Labrador Retriever and Golden Retriever – UK Verses Canada

In the early eighth century, two popular breeds inserted in Newfoundland (Canada) – the Greater Newfoundland and the Lesser Newfoundland. The Labrador Retriever emerged from the Lesser of the two. To make up for this low label, he quickly became the most popular dog in Newfoundland and was warmly welcomed by his cousins, the Brits, where he gave the original name for his new one. A little later in the mid-1800s, the Golden Retriever emerged, a combo of a golden covered Retriever and a touch of the Tweed Water Spaniel. Because there can be a sense of competition between Goldie and Lab owners, some might argue about who really is a native of Britain. But both breeds are so popular today in the US, that it seems they are really at home here.

The Lab has been the most popular breed in America for many years. The Goldie does not do too bad, following in fourth place. Because of their popularity, these breeds are at risk for overbreeding and extreme inbreeding (remember, first cousins musn't marry), thus creating new health and personality problems. Inbreeding often exacerbates bad qualities and hides good ones. Hip dysplasia can be so magnified that a three-month-old puppy will show signs. Many inbreeds dogs die unnaturally young and are lucky to make it to seven or eight years old. The importance of supporting reputable breeders is clear and one might secretly hope that those who are making Frankenstein Goldies and Labs will be set up by their creations.

That said, most Labs and Goldies in the US are wonderful examples of their breeds. They share much in common – both were bred to retrieve things, especially fowl and sometimes a cold glass of beer. Both are bred to swim well, to locate a target and to bring it back unharmed which makes them ideal for picking up small hamsters and guinea pigs. Both are even-tempered, very human-friendly and dog-friendly, and are excellent with children. Goldies and Labs are very playful creatures and any owner will tell you that they do not reach adulthood until about two years old (and in some ways, they never do). They are also very oral and like to stick things in their mouths such as a ball, a toy or your hand. Training is essential with Goldies and even more so with Labs as they are easily distracted when young and tend to think all life is a game where they do something annoying and you chase them.

You might think that the only difference between a Goldie and a Labrador Retriever is their coat. Goldie's have a dense undercoat and a thick, longish, wavy outer coat in varying shades of gold. Labs also have a strong undercoat but their outer coat is short and straight. It comes in yellow, black and chocolate. But there's more that separates these two cousins and there are pros and cons for each breed. Some dog owners feel Golden Retrievers have a more even temperament than Labrador Retrievers, partly due to Labs being kept as outside hunting dogs in the early years and Goldies being kept in the house. Labs tend to be a bit more active than Goldens and have a longer adolescence.

But do not get your knickers in a twist – both breeds have many commendable qualities as any Golden or Lab owner knows. The Lab might want to get a new press agent, though, as Golden Retriever dogs are beating them in movie appearances. And both breeds better watch out because it's rumored that the Chihuahuas have connections and are bidding for the number one spot next year.

How to Use Silk Satin

Satin is a special type of weaving that creates fabrics that has a specific glow and feel to it. This in combination with the natural shine and smoothness of silk makes it a wonderful combination.

Silk satin can be used for many different things, but it is prefer used for clothes that are being felt next to the skin because of the sensation and comfort it brings about. Teacher Salaries

It’s generally understood that teacher salaries are too low. Yet teacher salaries make up the bulk of education expenses in the united states, creating quite a conundrum. If teachers are paid more, education costs will skyrocket. Most states and local governments will not be able to afford it. Yet at the same time, can anybody really afford the hidden cost of low teacher pay?

The first thing to know about teacher pay is that it does vary from state to state. Some of the worst performing states and districts in the nation have the highest teacher salaries. So it’s not fair to suggest that there is a dollar-for-dollar correlation between high teacher pay and positive educational outcomes.

The reasons for this phenomenon are manifold. First and most obviously, the cost of living varies in different parts of the country. A first year teacher in New York City, making over $40,000 a year, may not be much better off than a first year teacher in Mississippi, making less than $20,000. The money simply doesn’t go as far in New York. So it’s important to keep in mind that teacher salaries do and should vary according to the local cost of living.

Another reason we see poor correlation between teacher salaries and educational outcomes is that not all teaching work is equal. The work that a teacher does in a failing Bronx high school might not compare at all to the work done by a teacher in a well-run, middle-class suburban school, in terms of workload. Teaching at-risk children is extremely hard work. One unfortunate thing about teacher salaries is that they do not reflect this difference. Teachers who work with the most difficult students under the most challenging of circumstances get paid the same salaries as those who work in much more favorable conditions.

So is it fair to say that paying teachers more money will not make a difference and will not improve education? Not exactly. Teachers do need to have higher salaries. It will improve education in America if they do. And the logic is quite simple. Higher teacher salaries will attract more qualified individuals to the field. Administrators will be able to hire from the cream of the crop, rather than settling for candidates who weren’t qualified to do much else.

Furthermore, higher teacher salaries will help retain the best and most effective teachers at the highest-need schools. Right now, about half of all new teachers leave the public school system within five years. How many bright, eager and competent teachers have been driven away by the low salary? Let’s end the bleeding away of good teachers, and finally pay them what they are really worth.

Bed Bugs – How Do They See?

Although bed bugs love feeding on human blood they do not have eyes that see like human beings. These parasitic creatures have what is called a compound eye structure. It is thought that they do not see in color, that they visualize in black and white.

A bed bugs eye is made up of hundreds of eye lenses called facets that fit together in a hexagon structure. An easy way to picture what this insects eye looks like is to think of a bee honey comb in a conical shape and not flat. It is like a soccer ball, but on a smaller, more complex level. The individual facets consist of two lenses, one on the surface and one on the inside. The bed bugs dual lens eye structure allows it to see in 3-D. All of these facets fitted together construct the parasites eye. These facets are connected to tubes that focus light down a central structure called the rhabdome. The rhabdome is light sensitive and directs the information through an optic nerve to the bugs brain.

Each individual facet in the bed bugs eye sends a different picture to it’s brain. When all these pictures are processed and put together a mosaic is created. This 3-D mosaic is how the bed bug can see it’s human host. It is not known if, as the bed bug moves, the picture it sees updates on a whole or takes micro-seconds for each lens to update the visual information. If this parasitic insect’s vision updates lens by lens then it would see a constantly updating picture. This view would kind of be like looking through a kaleidoscope with 3-D glasses on.

Bed bugs come out at night or in the dark to feed on their human hosts for a couple of reasons. One reason is because at night, when you are in your bed sleeping, you won’t feel them crawling on you and biting you. Another reason could be that these blood suckers have light sensitive eyes that enable them to see better in the dark. These compound eyes can also pick up a heat signature of the human body. This is why the majority of bed bug bites occur on the center of mass part of your body. Your heat signature is warmer on your torso, legs, and arms than it is on your fingers and toes.

Humans may have color vision that updates constantly where as bed bugs compound eyes see in black and white. Their eyes also do not constantly update the full picture at once, but they can see very well to do the job they are best at. That job is to find a human host in which to feed off of their blood.

Here Are My 4 Favorite Steps to Get Your Ex Back

If you search the internet you will find an amazing number of steps to get your ex back that are offered by just about anyone who has ever gone through the process themselves. Even some that have no idea what they are talking about. The key is to sift through all of the offered tips and find the diamonds in the rough. So I went through about 50 different tips and came up with the 4 I like the best.

Step 1

Figure out why you broke up to begin with.

Of all the steps to get your ex back offered out there this is my pick for the first step. If you can figure out exactly why the break up happened then you can avoid doing it again.

Step 2

Be the person they fell for in the beginning.

What changed and how do you change back? Obviously something has changed from the beginning until now so figure out exactly what it was and try to be the same person you were at the start of the relationship. Going from breakup to makeup can be made a whole lot easier if you can be the person they fell for.

Step 3

Start taking better care of yourself, join a gym or get a make over.

If he, or she, sees that you are starting to take more of an interest in how you look they will see you in a different light. Not only can this be good but it can be great if they suddenly realize what they are missing out on.

Step 4

Step back and go on with your life.

Do not let your exaving take you down to a place you do not want to be. Get up and get out of the house. Enjoy life and maybe you will see that you do not want them back, or better yet maybe your ex will see that your life can go on without them and get really jealous.

Those were my favorite tips of all the ones I have seen around the net. I hope they help you as much as they have helped me.

Shedding Some Light on Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal can be a great way to get rid of hair that you just have no use for. There are many things to keep in mind when making the decision as to whether or not you should have it done. From finding out if you're a good candidate to deciding if it fits your budget, there are lots of things you should consider before picking up the phone to book your first appointment. Here are just a few of those points.

How does it work?

When calibrated correctly, lasers focus on melanin. When melanin (pigment of our skin and hair) is found, the laser focuses energy down to the follicle of the hair causing damage and ultimately the insufficiency of the follicle to re-grow new hair. All lasers employed for hair removal use the same basic principle for their intended purpose, but many different methods to get there. From Alexandrite crystal focused lasers to CO2 fraxelated lasers, there are many options for your provider to choose from. This is not really a concern for you though. Their experience and ability to properly fire the laser machine IS a concern for you.

Am I a candidate?

As you may imagine, laser methods and technologies are progressing very quickly in this day and age. Through this progress new candidates are being added to the list for laser hair removal. Hair removal lasers are calibrated to find melanin and focus more energy to the darker tones. The best candidates at this time are those with light skin and dark hair. However, with the advent of specialized dyes, those with blonde or gray hair are seeing their odds rise for being able to participate in this hair free movement. Those with both dark skin and dark hair can be treated as well with a very specialized laser and a highly skilled technician. With both dark skin and dark hair the laser can cause persistent damage to the melanin in the skin while removing the hair, leaving behind unsatisfactory patches of hypo pigmented skin or skin without color.

How to choose a laser hair removal technician

Cosmetic esthetic services can be performed by a multitude of different level providers from Medical Estheticians to Physicians. That's really not to say one is better than the other. Any provider that is NOT a Physician must be overseen by one. Any technician firing a laser must be educated fully on the particular laser with which they are providing services. This education is given in part through classroom teaching of the theory of how lasers operate and in part by the manufacturer of the provider's chosen machine. Make sure when you are looking for a provider that you feel confident in their abilities. Find out how many years of experience they have, ask around for referrals and of course find and read reviews of their practice.

Does laser work anywhere on the body?

Laser hair removal can be performed almost anywhere on the body. A consult with your provider will arm you with the best advice for areas of removal for your personalized service. As long as the pigment of the hair is dark enough to attract the laser, you should be able to have it removed.

Laser Hair Removal is reliably painless and it in the right hands this procedure should be quick and only slightly uncomfortable. After each pulse of the laser you may feel a very cooling plate of metal such as stainless steel or even gold. There is usually a cooling gel applied the skin as well. The room may be a bit chilly to compensate for the heat that will be radiated from the laser machine but it will warm up quickly. Overall, your experience should be comfortable and quick.

Future Regrowth. Wait. What?

Every person is different when it comes to hair growth and re-growth. There is a possibility that the hair will grow back, but almost assuredly it will not return in the same density pre-laser removal. In most cases your laser hair removal technician will suggest you return for follow up laser sessions. On average, six to seven treatments will be necessary to fully remove hair in most areas.

For many this method of hair removal can prove to be cost prohibitive. For others, it's totally worth it to never have to see those pesky chin hairs again. With an average of $ 400 per treatment, and an average 6-7 treatments for complete removal, laser hair removal can get pricey. Of course smaller areas like the upper lip start around $ 75 per treatment and larger areas such as the back can be as high as $ 900 per session. In the end though, no more razors, no more waxing, and no more tweezing. Permanent laser hair removal will be saving you both time and money in the long run.

What Do Men Wear Under The Kilt?

'An Irishman goes to the local pub to celebrate St.. Patrick's Day, like he does every day, and gets wasted out of his mind. He stumbles outside when the bartender tells him that he's had enough, but he can barely walk. So he leans up against a tree, where he passes out. A few minutes later, a couple of fine lassies go walking by. One says to the other one, "Do you think they wear anything under those kilts?" She admits that she does not know. So they go to check it out. She lifts up the kilt and sees him in all his glory. As they replace the kilt and get ready to walk away, an idea enters one of their heads. "Give me your blue hair ribbon," she says. Reluctantly, she hands it over. She goes back over to the Irishman, lifts up the kilt, and ties the ribbon to him. They walk away laughing.

A few hours later, the drunk gets up to take a piss. He stands up, walks over to the bushses, hikes up his kilt, looks down and sees the blue ribbon. He thinks for a minute and says, "To be perfectly honest, I do not know how you got away, and I do not know what you did, and I do not know who you did it to, but I'm sure glad to see that you got first prize! ". '

The vast majority of Scotsmen still choose to wear nothing beneath their kilts, according to a survey out today. The survey of men north of the border revealed that 69 per cent of kilt-wearers prefer to "go commando".

Of the reminder, 14 per cent said they wore boxers and 10 per cent chose briefs – with 7 per cent admitting to falling into the rather ambiguous "other" category. One man advised wearing a thong with a Batman motif. Researchers found that a large number of Scotsmen often made up their minds on the basis of how formal the occasion was. Many preferred to wear underwear for occasions such as weddings, while on less formal outings such as rugby matches that went without.

What about you? Do you where anything under your kilt ? That is just your top secret but what to do with all those who want to get that information from you?
What do you usually answer to a curious ones when asked the most popular and 'favorite' question: What do you wear under your kilt? If you often have nothing to say or just to shy to replay maybe it is time to stand in front of the mirror and try some of those propositions of an intelligent responses:

How badly do you want to know?

How warm are your hands?

Me mother once told me a real lady would not ask. She was right, God bless' er.

My Scottish pride.

On a good day, lipstick.

Play your cards right and you can find out.

Tell me madam, would you go jogging without a bra? If so, where do you jog and when?

Sorry, I'm a bit shy and not much good with words. Give me your hand …

Talcum powder.

So which one do you like the most? Remember to answer with full confidence and right dose of humor!

7 Do-It-Yourself Last-Minute Halloween Costume Ideas

Halloween is near, and if you still have not thought of costumes for the upcoming scare-fest, you might be wacking your brains for ideas that can not be beat. Unfortunately, many of us are really busy. As much as we would like to focus on Halloween costume hunting, there's such a thing as real life, and we all have to attend to work, chores, and errands. So when your kids come knocking at your bedroom door begging to get a Halloween costume on the morning of October 31st, you know you're in for it.

Fortunately, you do not have to worry too much, as there are literally hundreds of Halloween costume ideas that you can DIY for yourself or your kids on a short notice. What's great is that you do not even have to break the bank doing it. Here are a few ideas.

1 – The Athlete

Surely you have someone in your family who has played ball. You do not have to be the star quarterback or the pointguard. You just have to look the part. If your kids are into sports, then why not suggest that they go out trick or treating as a team-complete in their athletic uniforms. This also goes for cheerleading attires.

2 – The Ghost

You've seen it in the cartoons, so why not try it in real life. Get an old white sheet and cut out eye holes. You're a ghost! The getup is not complete without moans and groans, so practice your moaning and groaning before midnight. You can add chains for that tormented soul effect.

3 – Ninja

Get a ski mask and wear an all-black attire. If you have a toy sword (or maybe even a decorative sword), then wear it on your belt. Now what makes you a ninja is not only your attire. Try to move stealthily around all day. Move against walls and do not get done in plain sight of people. When you cross the lawn, do not walk. Tumble!

4 – Mad Scientist

Wear an old white lab coat and eyeglasses. For effect, mess up your hair and set it with mousse or gel. Bring test tubes andakers wherever you go. Think of Dr. Emmet Brown from Back to the Future. Now that's a crazy costume idea.

5 – The Backwards Person

Wear your clothes all backwards. Wear your shirt and pants backwards, complete with belt and necktie. You can even wear sunglasses or eyeglasses at the back of your head for effect.

6 – The Corpse

Wear your best formal attire. Make it so formal it would seem you've come straight out of the coffin. Now apply very pale makeup and wear very dark lipstick. Apply thick, black eye shadow. To complete the effect, act the part. Walk slowly-as if you have not used your joints for decades.

If you have not got the time, do not sweat it. You can rummage around your closet and maybe you'll find something that will look scary or novel enough to be your Halloween costume. If you can find an outfit from the 80's, now that's something to scream about:

7 – The 80's Guy or Gal

Sure, the 80's are making a comeback. But the 2010's 80's are different from the real thing. Maybe you still have some leftovers from the past few decades sitting at the bottom of your closet. Wear skinny jeans and a white T-shirt with rolled-up sleeves. Wear high-cut sneakers. Get yourself a thick headband and try to wear your hair as if you had a bullet. If you have long hair, you can curl it like crazy. Bring along a big boombox on your shoulder to complete the effect. Now, that's scary!
